Situated in the heart of the South Downs National Park, this museum displays more than 45 rescued historic buildings from south-east England. The buildings range from medieval houses to a nineteenth-century schoolhouse and Victorian labourers cottages. There is a medieval farmstead complete with animals, several period gardens, a lakeside café, indoor and outdoor picnic areas, a working watermill, rural crafts, trade demonstrations and a working Tudor kitchen in an original Tudor service building. Shire horses and working cattle may be seen at seasonal tasks around the site. The first major timber gridshell building in Britain houses a conservation workshop and the Museum’s collection of rural artefacts."
