Description: Dulwich Picture Gallery is the oldest public art gallery in England is also one of the most beautiful, situated in picturesque Dulwich Village - a mere 12 minutes by train from Victoria Station. Housed in a building designed by Sir John Soane in 1811, displaying a fine cross-section of Old Masters including works by Rembrandt, Rubens, Poussin, Van Dyck, Gainsborough and Reynolds. The Gallery runs events for its visitors and for families and children, including art classes, lectures, film shows, quizzes and parties. But perhaps the Gallery is best known for its three critically acclaimed international loan exhibitions each year.
