This year the superb gardens at Ness on the Wirral Peninsular, overlooking the Dee Estuary celebrates the 150th anniversary of the founder Arthur Kilpin Bulley, a Liverpool cotton merchant with a passion for gardens and for plant hunting with special events and exhibitions. NEW FOR 2011: ‘Ness Botanische’ - the highly imaginative show garden created by Chris Beardshaw, award winning designer and TV presenter has been installed at Ness following winning a coveted RHS gold medal and ‘Best in Show’ at RHS Tatton Park and is a must see for visitors. Sit on the grass amphitheatre and experience the structures of a plant stem as under an electron microscope! Explore the 64 acres; enjoy the open spaces and stunning views. Children can become plant hunters with ‘tracker packs’ to explore the garden and will marvel at our innovative ‘Microsoft Surface’ interactive coffee table – a UK garden first! Treat yourself to a wholesome lunch or indulgent afternoon tea at the newly opened Roses Tea Rooms and browse the gift shop and extended plant sales area.
