RHS Garden Hyde Hall provides an oasis of peace and tranquillity far removed from the urbanisation sometimes associated with Essex. Perched on a hilltop, the 360-acre estate integrates fluidly into the surrounding farmland, meadows and woodland, providing a gateway to the countryside where you can watch the changing seasons and get closer to nature. Hyde Hall offers a safe, clean environment for children and adults alike providing a fabulous day out whatever the weather! We offer free children's garden trails aimed at encouraging children to learn about nature by going on a treasure hunt around the garden or why not hire a 'Garden Explorers' rucksack at £3.00 (or two packs for £5.00) and you can get digging and discovering with our hands-on activity pack.  We also run a number of specific events for children so visit the website for further information: www.rhs.org.uk/hydehall. You can then round off your visit with a well-earned break in our family-friendly restaurant or treat yourself to a little retail therapy in the well-stocked plant centre and shop.  Alternatively pack some lunch and relax in our shady picnic area.
