The Trolleybus Museum at Sandtoft (designated as a Registered Museum) houses the largest collection of preserved trolleybuses in the World (49). It is situated on a former aerodrome on the Isle of Axholme, North Lincolnshire, and is located between Doncaster and Scunthorpe. It has more than 60 vehicles in total, including some from the continent. Motorbuses plus other vehicles and associated equipment from the trolleybus era are also represented. The museum's overhead wiring circuit allows operation of the trolleybuses on advertised open days (Trolleydays). Other attractions include an audio-visual theatre, recreated 1950's prefab bungalow and an ever-expanding collection of old cycles and lawnmowers. There is a children's adventure playground and drawing area plus the Axholme Stores with its 1950s/60s shop window displays and a trolleybus-driving simulator. For 2010, a full programme of themed events has been arranged.

There is a café and also a museum shop. Much of the museum is accessible to disabled persons, although access within the main vehicle depot is restricted (width-wise) for wheelchairs. We also regret that wheelchairs cannot be accommodated on most trolleybuses. The operating company, Sandtoft Transport Centre Ltd is a Registered Charity (no. 514382), and is run by volunteer members. It was established to preserve the trolleybus as part of Britain's Transport Heritage.
