Location: Portsoy Harbour lies in middle of southern shore of Moray Firth. It sits N of A98, about 50mi W of Aberdeen & about 60mi E of Inverness

Now well established as the venue for the largest meeting of traditional sailing craft in Scotland, the Festival has also established a reputation for a splendid weekend of maritime activities; live music, song and dance; a wide range of craft demonstrations, an excellent Food Fayre featuring all that's best from the region's producers and an exciting Adventure Land with fun for all ages from 9 to 90. 2008 will also see the restoration and opening of Portsoy's historic Salmon House or Salmon Bothy as it will be called. In addition to housing an exhibition on Scotland's salmon fishing industry, the Bothy will also be a centre for ancestral tourism and for the further development of the Festival's outreach programme including traditional music, visual art and boat building and sailing. The opening of the Salmon Bothy will form the central part of the Festival and its theme of "Saumon Cobles and Silver Darlings". With something for everyone, the Festival promises to be yet again a great weekend for all the family and a showcase event for all that best in the great traditions of the region.
