Visit this year and see the Faces of History (Winston Churchill, Montgomery and Eisenhower) come alive in the magnificent 83 metre 'Overlord Embroidery' depicting scenes of 'Operation Overlord' - 6 June 1944. The Museum's unique and dramatic film show, which includes original, historic footage and archive film bringing this period of the Second World War alive to the visitor. Experience life on the 'Home Front' in an Anderson Shelter and the period front room of the ARP Warden. 'Listen While You Work' in the factory scene; keep vigil with the troops camped in the forest waiting their time to embark; eavesdrop on communications in 'The Map Room', Southwick House. Listen to the story behind the crashed Horda Glider; pass through the German pillbox to the 'Beach Landing' gallery with video / archive film of the landings and interactive touch screens. Tanks, jeep, Dingo Scout Car, anti-aircraft gun, military equipment, models, photographs, uniforms and veteran's memories, make this museum a necessity for military history enthusiasts.
