Celebrating the sea, boats and Cornwall, this Visitor Attraction of the Year not only has 15 stunning galleries beautifully illustrating the past, present and future of this island nation but also offers a number of stunning exhibitions.

New for 2011 is On Thin Ice: Pioneers of Polar Exploration. Opening on 8 April until the end of October, this exhibition honours the historic and modern-day achievements of iconic polar explorers, including Scott and Shackleton, using photography, objects and personal ephemera.

And, shining a light on lighthouses and their keepers is the major exhibition Lighthouses: Life on the Rocks.
