Description: Darlington Railway Centre and Museum re-opens in April 2008 with brand new displays, shop, café, learning and activity room and research facilities. One of the world's oldest railway stations has lots to see, touch hear and smell to help everyone to explore their railway heritage. Come and see one of the worlds most famous railway engines - Locomotion No 1. Whether you are interested in how things work or where they were made there's something here for everyone, whatever the weather! Children can enjoy the hands on activities and family friendly events like 'Santa at the Station' and the 'Great Railway Easter Egg Hunt'. For those who want to find out more there's information galore and also improved facilities in the Ken Hoole Study Centre. Why not stop for a break in our new café and browse in our gift shop for a memento of the day, something for the children or a postcard to send to a friend.
