Situated on Aberdeenshire's scenic north coast, Macduff Marine Aquarium offers a fascinating view into the underwater world of the Moray Firth. The aquarium's central exhibit contains a living community of seaweeds, fish and invertebrates normally only seen by scuba divers. Visitors come face to face with hundreds of local fishy characters, from fearsome wolf fish to ancient lobsters, and can watch them from several viewing windows. Several times a week divers hand feed the fish in the main tank. Other innovative displays include a ray pool, rock pools, a splash tank, estuary and deep reef displays. Visitors get a chance to get a feel for seashore life at the touch pools. There are also special talks, videos and feeding shows throughout the week, and quizzes for kids. New jellyfish display opens 2008. Tickets valid all day.
