Location: 1 mile east of Barnsley town centre off A633. Rail: Barnsley 2.5 miles.

The priory was an important Cluniac house founded in 1153. The extensive remains of the fully restored 14th century gatehouse, church and other buildings can be seen, and include some well-preserved drains. Dogs on leads only.
